There may be a feud percolating between the Dragon Queen and the Onion Knight over a rogue coffee cup.

After the screening of the last episode of Game of Thrones, fans spotted an incongruous takeaway coffee cup on set. Somehow the item made its way on to a table in front of Emilia Clarke’s character Daenerys Targaryen during The Last of the Starks, which aired early Monday morning.

With the error going viral, people have been looking at possible perpetrators for the gaffe. Stand up Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth, AKA the Onion Knight, who has a theory on who was responsible.

Talking in an interview with Conan O’Brien, Cunningham said: "These things happen, it's a big job, people run in, and Emilia [Clarke] probably drinks too much coffee."

This didn’t go down well with Cunningham’s cast mate Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryan.

After being told of his comments, Clarke, talking to the LA Times, said: “What a b*****d!

“I don’t even drink Starbucks. I have no idea whose it was. Liam’s a cheeky one. The funny thing is in Belfast, there is no craft coffee selling Starbucks. Unless we’ve got the Americans in, some hotshot producer, and then we’ll have Starbucks lying around.”

She continued: “You’ve never seen a Game of Thrones cast member with a Starbucks in their hand because we don’t get them - we don’t get to be like, ‘Yo, somebody go out and get me a mocha choco latte.’ I’ve never had Starbucks.”

Clarke, like any self-respecting English person, much prefers a cup of tea. She said: “My house is just littered with teas everywhere.

“I’ll bet it was Liam. He’s deflecting it - one hundred per cent. Like I said, he’s a cheeky one.”

The show has now digitally removed the cup from future viewings, but the error is believed to have given Starbucks £1.8billion worth of free advertising.
