It’s been announced that Barack Obama’s favourite film of 2015 was ‘The Martian.’

Both the President Of The United States and the First Lady Michelle Obama’s cultural highlights of the last 12 months were revealed to People magazine.

While Barack Obama took a liking to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi film, which was released to critical acclaim and managed to haul in the impressive sum of $573.4 million upon its release, Michelle Obama admitted that her favourite film of the year was ‘Inside Out’.

Like her husband’s choice, ‘Inside Out’ was also met with sterling reviews while it managed to eclipse ‘The Martian’s’ receipts by totalling $851.6 million at the box office.

Last year Barack Obama revealed that his favourite film was ‘Boyhood’, while during his original campaign for election the soon to be President admitted that ‘Casablanca’, ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’, ‘The Godfather I & II’, and ‘Lawrence Of Arabia’ were his top 5 films of all time.

It’s not known if Barack Obama was able to use his connections to get a copy of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ ahead of its release date so he could evaluate all of his options before making a more considered choice though.
