18 years ago, the doors of the Coyote Ugly saloon swung open, turning a low-key Jerry Bruckheimer-produced coming of age film into a beloved cult hit.

But what happened to coyotes Piper Perabo, Tyra Banks and the rest of the movie's cast? We find out what they've all been doing since.

Since playing aspiring singer Violet Sanford in Coyote Ugly, Piper Perabo's career has veered from the sublime (2005's The Prestige) to the ridiculous (2008's Beverly Hills Chihuahua).

The film roles have kept on coming, but recently she's been best known as the lead in TV series Covert Affairs, which ran for five seasons on the USA Network between 2010 and 2014, and Notorious, which managed one season in 2016.

Perhaps you also saw her in Looper in 2012.

Adam Garcia

A star of the West End stage, Adam Garcia hot-footed from Saturday Night Fever to Coyote Ugly as Violet's love interest Kevin.

Garcia later nabbed film roles in Riding in Cars with Boys and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen before heading back to the stage to launch Wicked in the UK with Idina Menzel. He's also a familiar face on TV thanks to judging work on Dancing with the Stars and Got to Dance.

Tyra Banks

A supermodel-turned-actress, Tyra had already notched up several film and TV roles (notably as Jackie in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) before playing Coyote Ugly's Zoe.

In the years since her stint behind the bar, she's continued her acting career (featuring in Halloween: Resurrection and Glee), hosted her own talk show, and created and fronted the smash hit reality series America's Next Top Model.

She's been quite busy running a cosmetics line and guest lecturing at Stanford University, but still finds time for the odd acting gig – including a couple of eps of TV comedy Black-ish and a forthcoming sequel to her much-loved 2000 TV movie Life-Size, in which she played a child's doll come to life.

Maria Bello

Maria took on the role of Coyote founder Lil Lovell, ruling the roost over her lively saloon patrons and staff. Post-Coyote Ugly, she won huge critical acclaim for her roles in The Cooler and A History of Violence, bagging Golden Globe nominations for both.

She also starred in the US remake of Prime Suspect, played Hugh Jackman's wife in tense thriller Prisoners, and more recently joined the cast of the widly popular series NCIS, playing forensic psychologist Jacqueline 'Jack' Sloane.

Izabella Miko

Polish-born dancer-turned actress Izabella made her American film debut playing Cammie in Coyote Ugly. She later put her dance moves to good use in Save the Last Dance 2, Step Up: All In and Make Your Move 3D.

If the face seems familiar, you may also recognise Izabella from The Killers' music videos for 'Mr Brightside' and 'Miss Atomic Bomb'.

Bridget Moynahan

A model who successfully transitioned to acting, one of Bridget's earliest roles was as Rachel in Coyote Ugly.

In the years since, she swiftly found herself starring alongside some of Hollywood's most bankable leading men of the '00s. There was Ben Affleck in The Sum of All Fears, Will Smith in I, Robot and Nicolas Cage in Lord of War, and more recently Keanu Reeves, playing his wife in John Wick and John Wick 2.

Bridget has also been a small-screen regular, featuring among the cast for CBS cop show Blue Bloods.

John Goodman

A bona fide Hollywood treasure, John Goodman was already a household name when he played Violet's dad in Coyote Ugly.

From Argo to Inside Llewyn Davis, Community to Damages, chances are if you've watched anything film or TV-related in the past few years, you'll have seen John in action.

More recently, he popped up in Kong: Skull Island, Atomic Blonde and gave an amazingly creepy performance in 10 Cloverfield Lane.

He also reprised his '90s TV role of Dan Conner for the Roseanne revival and will continue to play the part in spin-off The Conners, hastily greenlit after Roseanne Barr was dropped from her show following a racist tweet.

Melanie Lynskey

Violet is forced to leave behind her best pal Gloria to pursue her dreams of stardom, but Melanie Lynskey has seen her career go from strength-to-strength in the years since Coyote Ugly.

The New Zealand-born actress has notched up more than 50 film and TV credits, among them Up in the Air, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Two and a Half Men. You can also catch her in Netflix Original I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore and TV series Girlboss.

She currently appears in Castle Rock, a TV show based on the stories of Stephen King.

LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn only arrived in Coyote Ugly for the feel-good final scene, but her trio of soundtrack contributions are strongly tied to the film, particularly the Diane Warren-penned 'Can't Fight the Moonlight'.

Acting was never a priority for LeAnn after Coyote. Instead, she went on to cement herself as a music superstar, adding to her Grammy collection and selling more than 37 million records worldwide, though she did pop up for a cameo in last year's Logan Lucky.
