Why Ludacris isn’t sad that the 'Fast & Furious' franchise is ending

While fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Fast And Furious 9, there will also be a tinge of sadness once it finally hits cinemas, as it will mean that there are only two more instalments to the action franchise left.

Last month Deadline reported that the current plan is to end the franchise after two more movies, both of which will be directed by Justin Lin.

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, who has played Miami mechanic Tej Parker since 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious, opened up about the impending end to the Fast And Furious story.

Rather surprisingly, Ludacris isn’t actually that upset that the Fast & Furious series is about to come to an end.

Not only did he think “they were going to end on 10,” but he also told The Ellen De Generes Show’s guest host Tiffany Haddish that every instalment which has been added to the series since Fast & Furious 5 has been a bonus.

“You gotta think about it: I came out in 2 Fast 2 Furious, we never knew we were gonna get a call back for [Fast & Furious] 5. Now I been in 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. And now they’re telling me there’s gonna be two more? I’m happy!"

Anticipation is particularly high for Fast And Furious 9, as it has already been teased that it will see the Toretto gang head into space.

Fast And Furious 9, which has an official title of F9, was originally intended for release on May 22, 2020, by Universal, but has been pushed back to April 2, 2021.
