Will The Flash team with Cyborg in his upcoming DC solo movie?

‘The Flash’ director Rick Famuyiwa has posted a cryptic message on social media potentially hinting that Ray Fisher’s Cyborg will appear in the upcoming movie.

Both characters will make their full debuts in next year’s 'Justice League’ before Ezra Miller leads his first solo film as the Scarlet Speedster in 2018.

On Twitter Famuyiwa posted a picture of the latest draft of the film’s script, with the feet of two action figures in the background.

One of the figures is clearly The Flash, with the other seemingly Cyborg - the augmented part-human, part-robot superhero teased alongside Flash in 'Batman v Superman’ earlier this year.

The characters aren’t known for teaming up, despite being established members of the League, but a round of reports from the set of 'Justice League’ published earlier this year described their chemistry as being part of “what makes the film lighter than 'BvS’”.

A role for Cyborg also makes sense given the character’s trajectory ahead of his own solo movie, expected in 2020.

Warner Bros’ DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU) has been built on characters appearing here, there and everywhere before their solo outings. These two characters appeared briefly earlier this year, The Flash and Ben Affleck’s Batman also appeared in 'Suicide’ Squad’ more recently.

We’ll find out for sure if Cyborg has a part to play as we near 'The Flash’s 2018 release.

The film is shaping up nicely, with the script in some form of completion - worked from the treatment by 'The Lego Movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

The actors confirmed to appear alongside Miller are Kiersey Clemons as love interest Iris West and Billy Crudup as The Flash’s father Henry Allen.
