WNBA’s Sydney Colson & Theresa Plaisance To Star In Unscripted Series For Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort

Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, an ad-support streaming channel, has launched its fall slate including an unscripted series featuring WNBA players Sydney Colson and Theresa Plaisance.

The duo are to star in The Syd + TP Show, written by Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, which sees the World Champions and bench warming besties Sydney Colson and Theresa Plaisance determined to become the faces of the WNBA, despite the fact no one asked them to. This buddy comedy series follows Syd and TP on their quest to become the most famous basketball players on earth through a mix of stunts, interviews, hijinks and a complete lack of shame.

The series will launch on September 18.

It is co-produced by Maximum Effort and Fubo, which run the channel together, and Togethxr, which was set up by athletes Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim, Simone Manuel and Sue Bird.

Colson and Plaisance produce, with Reni Calister, Jessica Robertson and Quanny Carr exec producing for Togethxr, Carly Usdin, Katy Dierks, Pamela Duckworth and David Gandler for Fubo and Reynolds, Kevin Hill and Ashley Fox for Maximum Effort.

Other series on the schedule include Discontinued with Bruce Campbell using defunct products, subjects, and phrases and Flip A Coin.

It comes after Maximum Effort acquired the rights to Alf as well as Fifteen, Kids in the Hall, Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.
