‘Wonder Woman’ has gone rogue!
Appearing in a cool new image from the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ movie, Gal Gadot appears to have taken things into her own hands… as the iconic superheroine pilfers the ‘Godkiller’ sword from behind her mother’s back. Not to mention, setting off on a crusade to save mankind.
Take that, overprotective superhero mom!
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Patty Jenkins revealed that there’s a time when the hero has to take action… and this is that moment for Wonder Woman.
“This is her moment,” she explained. “She’s heard all the terrible things about man’s land. But she’s also heard that mankind is in need and under duress. This is her great moment to make the decision to be the one to try and save them.”
Disobeying her mother’s wish to remain on the isle of Themyscira, young Diana Prince breaks into the heavily-guarded Amazonian armoury in order to liberate the ‘Godkiller’ – a mythical sword which might just aid her in her quest to save humanity.
It’s certainly a very cool moment… and not to mention, it unveils a similarity between her new costume and a certain ‘80s comic book look.
Actually look how similar these outfits are. Inspired by Ross Andru's 1980 cover? Loving that classic looks here. pic.twitter.com/j8s0chhF4z

Will we see even more rebellious moments as Wonder Woman escapes Themyscira to do her own good work? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But Queen Hippolyta isn’t going to be happy about that. Not one bit.
Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman alongside Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielson, and Lucy Davis.
Patty Jenkins directed the film based on a script by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns.
‘Wonder Woman’ heads to cinemas on 2 June 2017.
