X-Men's Nicholas Hoult addresses potential MCU appearance

X-Men actor Nicholas Hoult is "open" to reprising his snarling blue mutant within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Real name Hank McCoy, his incarnation of Beast appeared across four X-Men movies – starting with First Class and ending with Dark Phoenix in 2019 – after Kelsey Grammer originally brought him to life in X-Men: The Last Stand.

So with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool poking their heads through the multiverse next year, does Hoult see himself joining them at some point?

"I would be open to it. I enjoy watching [Marvel] films," he revealed in the latest issue of SFX. "If there was a role that made sense for me, I would happily jump back in.

"I had a great time playing Beast and making the X-Men movies. I don't know what Marvel is planning with the X-Men, but I'd like to see how they integrate them into that world.

"I don't know... I like balancing different characters and tones, but I had a really good time on those movies."

While we patiently wait for that to materialise, Hoult also admitted in 2019 that he'd be keen to stay on as the big-screen Beast.

"It's a character that I love," he told RadioTimes.com. "That character's grown as I've grown, and I feel like when I grow and get older and discover new things in life I can put more into the character.

"So who knows what the plans will be for the X-Men? But if it were something that made sense for me to do and they wanted me to, then I'd be happy to play him again," added the Renfield star.
