Zac Efron confirms he did meet with Disney about a Star Wars VII role.

COMMENT | After rumours that Zac Efron was up for a role in 'Star Wars: Episode VII' it turns out that the young star had been in to discuss an unknown role.

It's perhaps one of the more unbelievable 'Star Wars' rumours we've heard since 'Episode VII' was announced - that Zac Efron had been in to discuss a major role in the sequel trilogy. But while I was quick to dismiss the mutterings, it turns out it was absolutely true… and Zac Efron himself has finally come clean.

In an interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz, Efron confirmed the unbelievable rumour that he's been in to meet with the folks at Disney about an undisclosed 'Star Wars VII' role.

Asking who would be most likely to appear in the new 'Star Wars' movies, Horowitz posed the question to Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller… and it seems they were keen to point out Efron's previous involvement.

"Yeah, I just went and met with them," he said. "So I don't know. It would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them, but… who knows?"

Although Efron certainly makes it sound as though his casting is still up in the air, I can't help thinking that he's probably already been told… and judging by his willingness to share the experience, I'd say it isn't good news.

At least, not for him.

For the rest of us, I think we can all sleep easy knowing that Zac Efron didn't quite make the cut. But it seems his good pal Michael B. Jordan could still be in with a chance. Although all three have previously been rumoured for a role in 'Star Wars VII' it sounds as though Jordan could still be in the running… if he hasn't been cast already.

Of course, this is just speculation based on Miles Teller's eagerness to explain that Jordan is the most likely of the three to end up in the sequel trilogy. But for now, it looks as though we'll have to wait and see.

What do you think of this startling confirmation? Which 'Star Wars' role would suit Zac Efron? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
