Zac Efron to play two lead roles in new thriller Famous
The Iron Claw star Zac Efron is set to play double lead roles in celebrity thriller about a crazed fan, Famous.
As reported by Deadline, Efron will star in dual roles in the film, playing both Hollywood star James Jansen and a fan obsessed with him, Lance Dunkquist.
The plot of Famous follows Dunkquist, who has the face of a movie star – more specifically that of Hollywood icon Jansen. He travels to Los Angeles to make his dream come true, determined to become famous, no matter the cost.

Famous is based on New York Times bestselling author Blake Crouch's novel of the same name, and has been adapted by Chad Hodge for screen.
Hodge previously adapted Crouch's Wayward Pines into a 2015 miniseries, meaning that Famous is their third collaboration, following Good Behavior in 2016.
The film is set to be directed by Jody Hill and produced by Sam Esmail (Leave The World Behind).

Efron, best known for his role in the High School Musical trilogy, is currently receiving rave reviews for his role as Kevin Von Erich in the wrestling drama The Iron Claw.
Variety wrote of the film: "In the end it’s Zac Efron’s movie. He plays Kevin as a moving simpleton with hidden depths, a fellow of such decency that the one thing he won’t do is disobey. He’s the film’s Cringing Bull."
In a separate review, IndieWire added: "However you choose to think of it, The Iron Claw deserves at least one title that simply cannot be contested: This is the heavyweight tear-jerker of the year."
The Iron Claw is in UK cinemas now.
