Zack Snyder's Justice League Casts Welsh TV Actor Julian Lewis Jones
Next year’s ‘Justice League’ will star a host of famous faces, but one of the biggest roles might be played by someone you’ve never heard of.
Welsh TV actor Julian Lewis Jones has revealed he’s been cast in Zack Snyder’s enormous blockbuster, adding that he’s not allowed to discuss which role he’ll be playing.
- Hasselhoff stopped DiCaprio joining Baywatch
- Affleck is the ‘most murderous’ Batman ever
- Skarsgard reveals insane diet for Tarzan
Secrecy in superhero movies is far from uncommon, serving as it does to keep details under lock and key. But the very secrecy itself can reveal new information. If Jones isn’t allowed to talk about his role, it’s potentially quite a big one.
Speaking to Wales Online, Jones (above, right) said: “I’m not allowed to say yet what part I play but let’s say I’ve a role in what will likely be the most expensive movie ever made.
"It was filmed at Warner Brother’s studio at Leavesden as well as various locations around the UK and Iceland,” he continues. “I’m just happy to have been involved and I’m looking forward to the movie’s release.”
The fact he’s been shooting in multiple locations hints at a significant role, but he also talks in the past tense, suggesting he has finished shooting early on during the film’s mammoth production.
Two potential roles he could be playing are the film’s villain Steppenwolf (a CG creation pictured in his comic book form above) and Darkseid - the big bad who is being saved for a future film but who could still make an appearance. Jones could be playing the character outright or acting as a stand-in for a CG character.
Arguably best known for his role in Sky1 comedy 'Stella’, Jones has also appeared in Clint Eastwood’s rugby drama 'Invictus’ and Kathryn Bigelow’s spy thriller 'Zero Dark Thirty’. 'Justice League’ will be released on 17 November 2017.
