Spider-Man stars Tom Holland and Zendaya have been spotted singing along to Whitney Houston during a cute tennis date.

The pair were in attendance at BNP Paribas Open Women's Final at Indian Wells in California over the weekend and could be seen singing along to Whitney Houston's 1987 dance classic 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)' while seated in the stands.

The actress also met with champion Iga Swiatek, who had defeated runner-up Maria Sakkari, for photos later in the day while congratulating her on the win.

"What just happened?" Swiatek wrote on her Instagram story alongside a photo of the pair.

"Thank you @Zendaya for being kind, funny and mindful."

Zendaya reshared the image to her own story and congratulated the tennis player on her win, adding: "It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and watch you play. Many, many congratulations."

Meanwhile, the couple's tennis date coincides with Zendaya preparing for the release of her next film Challengers, which tells the story of a tennis love triangle both on and off the courts.

She stars as Tashi Duncan, a former teenage tennis prodigy turned coach who's mentoring her husband Art Donaldson (West Side Story's Mike Faist) back to victory after he suffered a recent losing streak.

However, his redemption journey takes a strange turn when he faces Patrick (The Crown's Josh O'Connor), who's his former friend and Tashi's ex, at a Challenger event.

Challengers is directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name, Bones and All) and is set to be released next month following delays from the now-resolved SAG-AFTRA strike.

Speaking about the role in an interview with Elle last year, Zendaya said she hoped the film would help her transition into the next phase of her career.

"I felt like it was a good step into a more, I guess you could say, 'grown-up' role and into that next phase," she said, adding that it had been "a little bit scary" at times.

However, she explained that this was a "good feeling" for her, saying: "You could run from that feeling and stay safe and comfortable, or you can go, ‘You know what, f**k it.'"

Challengers will be released in the UK on April 26.
