Zombieland 2 Still In The Works And Currently Being Written

It’s official - ‘Zombieland 2’ is coming.

Appearing on AMC’s Geeking Out with Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg, writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese revealed they’re currently writing the script for ‘Zombieland 2’.

“That is breaking news that we’re on Zombieland 2 right now,” said Wernick and Reese. “We’re sitting with Woody [Harrelson] tomorrow and are going to sort of walk him through some of the stuff we want to do. All the cast is pretty excited.”

‘Zombieland’ was a smash hit back in 2009, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin as a group of Zombie survivors who band together to work their way across America.

And it looks as though the survivors will be back.

But will the full cast return?

After the film’s release, writer Paul Wernick revealed that Harrelson was definitely on board for a sequel… and this is the first time he’s really wanted to make one.

“We would love it, and everybody involved creatively wants to do another one,” he told Fangoria. “Woody Harrelson came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, ‘I’ve never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I’ve done until this one’.”

But while his enthusiasm for a ‘Zombieland’ sequel seemed to cool off, it looks as though Wernick and Reese are dead set on getting him to return. And it’s likely that the rest of the cast would soon follow.

Will ‘Zombieland 2’ finally be made?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but the fans would love it.
