Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed he will star in Sylvester Stallone's new movie The Expendables, despite the economic crisis in California.

The Governor of California will film a cameo appearance for the action epic, but insists his main concern is tackling the state's budget crisis.

He said, "It has nothing to do with the budget crisis, or the budget negotiations, because that will take place sometime in April, May or June.

"Since I've become governor I've done three cameos. Sly asked me if I would do a cameo, and I said of course I'll do a cameo. I enjoy him, he's a terrific director and actor and we hang out a lot of times together."

The Expendables sees Stallone lead a group of mercenary misfits on their mission to overthrow an evil dictator. The cast features a who's who of action cinema - Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren - as well as comeback star Mickey Rourke.

It will be the first time 80's action stars Arnie and Sly have appeared on the big screen together.
