Adam Sandler attacked by a cheetah in Africa
Happy Gilmore star almost mauled whilst holidaying with family.
Adam Sandler has revealed he was almost mauled by a cheetah whilst on safari in Africa.
The ‘Billy Madison’ actor was invited to enter an enclosure with rescued animals and encouraged to help feed a resident cheetah. The big cat clearly had other ideas though, angrily pouncing on the star as he knelt at a water hole.
We’ll assume it’s seen ‘Jack And Jill’ then...

“They let me in with the cheetah and said I could feed the cheetah water with my hands,” Sandler told David Letterman’s ‘The Late Show’. “And it went a little bit wrong.”
Sandler then allowed a home movie of his encounter to be played. Watch it above (via ABC News). In the clip, a cheetah stalks behind the crouched Sandler before leaping onto the unaware star, clearly attempting to sink its claws into his back and arms.
The owner of the reserve quickly reacts, pulling the animal of Adam. Amazingly though, the 46-year-old seemed unfazed by the attack.
“You were remarkably composed!” exclaimed Letterman about the incident, before laughing that the event was “the kind of thing you’d expect from Jim Carrey”.
“The only reason though I didn’t react fast [was] I had a stiff neck at the time,” admitted Sandler. “So when he jumped on me I was like ‘Oh, my neck’.
“I swear to god, when he jumped on me, all I was gonna do was let him eat me,” he added. “There was not one part of me that was gonna fight back!”
Strangely, Sandler unleashed the footage the day before his new film, ‘Grown Ups 2’, is released in the US.
