Mel Gibson back to his best? Exclusive trailer for ‘How I Spent My Summer Vacation’

The UK trailer for Mel Gibson's latest flick, 'How I Spent My Summer Vacation' has arrived — and it's exclusive to Yahoo! Movies.

[See also: How to land a movie role]

It sees the veteran movie-star back doing what he does best; swearing, shooting and blowing stuff up.

    Check it out below…

It follows a career criminal (Gibson) nabbed by Mexican authorities and placed in a tough prison where he learns to survive with the help of a 9-year-old boy. The movie harks back to the Australian star's renegade characters in the likes of 'Lethal Weapon', 'Payback' and 'Maverick'.

This makes us glad as we sat though 'The Beaver'.

'How I Spent My Summer Vacation' is due to be released in the UK on 11 May 2012.

I wonder if he will do one where he gets locked in a mexican jail. only to find out its run by jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeews, and they've chased him all over hollywood, setting him up, and getting him in trouble, and now they've got him in jail, and there's no where to run to, and no where to hide, and they send the "bear jew" in, and......... i'm getting off track here, aren't i ?

He sorta is- the family immigrated and became Aussie citizens. He would never have become a 'star' id it hadn't been for 'Mad Max'.

        He never took Australian citizenship.

The reason his family emigrated to Australia was because his father did not want him being called up for the Vietnam War. Trouble is I think he took the Pom bashing that Australians do as serious thus his anti English stance as per Braveheart & The Patriot. Why let facts get in the way of a good anti English rant!

The Australians fought in Vietnam too.

See Mel look what you've started? can't you just make a film without everyone fighting over your nationality. You do know if its not brilliant people will definatley say you can't possibly be from America LOL But I watch it, not fussed where your'e from really

His father took his family to Australia, so that his sons could avoid being drafted during the Viet Nam war. If he took Australian citizenship that makes him Australian of American/ European descent. If now he's reverted back to an American citizen that just makes him daft. That's just my 'umble opinion.

I don't care what Mel Gibson does offscreen, as long as he keeps making good movies, I'll watch them. He's not politically correct and that's rare these days. GO MEL!
