Mrs. Doubtfire: the horror film

Robin Williams comedy Mrs. Doubtfire - a charming flick about a dad who just wants to see his kids… or is it?

Vimeo user Peter Javidpour doesn't think so, and has re-cut the film into a genuinely terrifying and alarmingly plausible horror trailer.

Why does it work so well? Think about it - a wife asks for a divorce, is awarded sole custody of the kids, and the husband dresses up as an old woman in order to spend every day with them. There are echoes of 'Psycho' already.

He uses prosthetics to change his face and body, puts on an accent, and spies on his estranged wife and her new boyfriend.

There's even a terrifying scene where half his fake face falls off.
