Chastain to play Jane in Tarzan reboot?

Zero Dark Thirty actress is reportedly the first choice for the role

Jessica Chastain is reportedly in talks to play the character of Jane in the forthcoming reboot of the 'Tarzan' story.

So far it's unclear who is in the running to star as Tarzan, though names including 'True Blood's Alexander Skarsgård, Henry Cavill and Charlie Hunnam have been linked to the role.

It's set to be directed by David Yates, who helmed the final four 'Harry Potter' films back-to-back.

Samuel L. Jackson is also being rumoured for a role as a former US mercenary, who helps Tarzan fight a warlord in Congo.

The Edgar Rice Burroughs novel has been brought to the screen countless times, but not in non-animated form since 1984's 'Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan', starring Christopher Lambert as the man raised by apes and Andie MacDowell as Jane.

There is a new animated version, starring 'Twilight' Kellan Lutz in a motion-capture performance, due out later this year.
