Full Mandela trailer lands
Star of 'Luther' and 'The Wire' Idris Elba shows his transformation into the revolutionary leader.
Following the teaser earlier this week, we now have the first full trailer for 'Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom', starring Idris Elba as the revolutionary leader Nelson Mandela.
The teaser made much of Elba's rather impressive impersonation of Mandela, and this full-length look at director Justin Chadwick's biopic gives us a glimpse as his transformation.

It also details the turmoil in South Africa and the violence Mandela faced as he campaigned to rid the country of the Apartheid regime.
Starring alongside Elba is 'Skyfall' star Naomi Harris, who will play Mandela's wife Winnie, and the film follows Mandela's life from growing up in the rural Cape Province to his involvement in the ANC, his imprisonment on Robben Island and his ascent to the presidency of South Africa.

Released in November in the US – and January 3 in the UK – it could be making a bid for Oscar territory, with producers the Weinstein Company well-schooled on how to campaign the right way to get nominations.
