It was a clash of the action film titans...

When Sylvester Stallone vented on Twitter over Bruce Willis's reported fee demands to appear in 'The Expendables 3', it seemed that the pair were set for a serious falling out.

Sly didn't mince his words either, dubbing Willis 'greedy and lazy' after it was rumoured he requested a fee of $4 million - that's £645,000 a day - for four days work on the new action film.

He was promptly ditched from the film and Harrison Ford jumped on instead.

Sly has now addressed the online spat.

“This is just a matter of economics,” Stallone told Empire magazine.

“Bruce has been a lifelong friend. I still consider him a friend, at least on my side. This is something that came out of frustration, but it also turned out okay.

“Perhaps I shouldn't have been so vocal with it.”

Maybe not. Everyone was hoping for a a real-life 'straightener' between the two action movie dons. Perhaps stripped to the waist in a pub car park.

But sadly, no such scrap took place, with Willis remaining entirely silent on the matter ever since the day of the thinly veiled tweeting.

Let's hope it's behind them. Now, how about 'Expendables 4', Bruce?
