Mr Schneebly – or should we say Dewey Finn – clearly made a lasting impression on the pupils of Horace Green Prep.

10 years after the release of 'School of Rock', Jack Black, Mike White – who wrote and also starred in the film – and director Richard Linklater reunited with the film's former child stars for a celebratory gig over the weekend.

'iCarly' star Miranda Cosgrove, who played Summer 'Tinkerbell' Hathaway in the film, posted a series of shots of the reunion to her Instagram account.

The pictures quickly received likes in their tens of thousands from her one million plus followers, particularly the shot of the impossibly cute cast way back in 2003.

The film was screened during the reunion event in Austin, Texas, followed by a Q&A session about the film, and then a gig by the band, with Black on lead guitar.

The film followed Black as Dewey Finn, a musician who, after being threatened with eviction from his apartment by his best friend's girlfriend (Sarah Silverman), assumes the identity of his best friend Ned Schneebly and takes a job as a supply teacher at an upscale prep school.

There he teaches his class about rock n' roll history, and enters them into a battle of the bands.

Many of the stars are still forging ahead in acting. Cosgrove starred in the hugely popular 'iCarly' and more recently in 'Despicable Me' and its sequel, while Cole Hawkins, who played Short Stop has appeared in the likes of 'Law & Order' and 'Third Watch'.
