Jim Carrey quits Dumb and Dumber sequel
Star blames 'lack of enthusiasm' by producers for killing comedy follow-up
Jim Carrey has left the ‘Dumb and Dumber’ sequel, blaming indecisive studio bosses.
There was excitement earlier this year when Carrey enthusiastically said he would star in another sequel to be called ‘Dumb and Dumber To’.

But after waiting months for studios New Line and Warner Bros to actually get cracking on the project, Carrey has walked out.
In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, he said: “I would have thought ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ was a no-brainer.
“After all, it's implied in the title.”
Reports suggest studio bigwigs were worried about potential box-office returns. Surely considered was dismal prequel movie 'Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry met Lloyd', which tanked on release in 2003, though it didn’t feature the two original leads.
Previously Peter Farrelly, one half of the Farrelly Brothers said a script was finished and filming would begin this September.
