Megan Fox to play April in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Seems that the actress has made up with the film's producer Michael Bay

Megan Fox has been confirmed to play April O'Neil in Michael Bay's forthcoming reboot of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.'

The director/producer confirmed the appointment to the cast on his own blog, with the simple missive: “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family.”

It's an interesting casting choice for Bay, considering the pair's past.

Fox was fired by Bay from the 'Transformers' series – and replaced by Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley – after various transgressions on set, and also bad-mouthing Bay in a magazine interview by comparing him to Hitler.

Bay said at the time: “She was in a different world, on her BlackBerry. You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven [Spielberg] said, 'Fire her right now'.

“I wasn't hurt, because I know that's just Megan. Megan loves to get a response. And she does it in kind of the wrong way. I'm sorry, Megan. I'm sorry I made you work twelve hours. I'm sorry that I'm making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy.”

But it appears the pair have now made up.

Bay is producing rather than directing the project – that honour will fall to Jonathan Liebesman who, according to Heat Vision, 'wowed' Fox with the forthcoming movie's storyboards.

Fox is likely to be among the bigger stars of the film, with 'relative unknowns' testing for the roles of motion capture turtles Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.

The film is due for May 16, 2014.
