Minimalist first poster for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

The first teaser poster for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's upcoming Sin City sequel, A Dame to Kill For, is minimalist, but nonetheless effective.

The noirish art features stark imagery - just a pair of red lips blowing smoke in the rain - alongside the film's title and impressive cast list which includes Josh Brolin, Bruce Willis, Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Mickey Rourke.

The film, which draws inspiration from Millar's graphic novels, will see several characters return as they're drawn into dark new tales - a woman asks her lover to help her escape her abusive husband and a gambler is on an ill-fated mission to destroy the biggest villain in Sin City.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For hits cinemas on August 29, 2014.
