Skyfall writers to pen Kojak reboot with Vin Diesel
Bond scribes will set to work reinventing the lolly-sucking New York detective
Vin Diesel is set to play hard-boiled New York detective Kojak in a big screen reboot of the 70s TV cop show.
The feature-length project will be penned by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, two of the screenwriters behind 23rd Bond film 'Skyfall'.

The pair have also written on the last four Bond films too, including 'The World Is Not Enough', 'Die Another Day', 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace'.
Meanwhile, Diesel has just finished filming 'Fast and Furious 6', and has a slew of big budget projects in the offing, including the latest in the 'Chronicles of Riddick' series, called 'Riddick', and 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' with Samuel L. Jackson, the sequel to 2002's 'xXx'.
A previous TV reboot of the show was attempted in 2005, featuring 'Pulp Fiction' star Ving Rhames, but it lasted just one season.
Telly Savalas made the lollipop-loving detective one of his most iconic roles, appearing in 125 episodes of the show over five seasons.
