That’s a week earlier than the US release.

We’re not sure why the date has been shifted, but it’s certainly good news for ‘Star Trek’ fans.

J.J. Abrams’ follow-up to the smash hit 2009 reboot sees Benedict Cumberbatch join the cast as the villain 'John Harrison'. Talking to Yahoo! Movies, he described his character thus:

"He is fed into the crew of the Enterprise and creates a lot of shadow play between Kirk and Spock. He is an awesome single-handed weapon of mass destruction but also a master mind-player and manipulator who plays with their roles and loyalties and understanding of what's right and wrong. As far as his own purpose, beyond the terrorist means, he has a noble cause, which will hopefully resonate with the audience."

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg and Anton Yelchin all return to the cast, while Alice Eve, Noel Clarke and Peter Weller join the franchise.
