The Rock tweets final Hercules set stills

Dwayne Johnson has treated Twitter devotees to a final glimpse of upcoming swords 'n' sandals epic Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

The actor posted two new images to mark the end of filming, and tweeted: 'My film crew & fellow actors.. After 6 long months.. give me one last great effort. #LastDayOfFilming #TogetherWeConquer #HERCULESMovie'

Two dramatic new images followed, as Johnson thanked those who'd worked alongside him on the movie.




Work on the film will now move on to post-production, as director Brett Ratner and his team begin putting the film together ahead of next summer's release.

The action adventure, which also stars Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt and  Rebecca Ferguson, sees a haunted Hercules struggle against his own legend.

Hercules: The Thracian Wars hits cinemas on 25 July, 2014.
