ROXY SIMONS: I wanted to ask about the ending because obviously it's very dramatic the way things are left off. The San-Ti are coming. They're threatening Wade as well. I wondered, what did you make of that, the way things are left off? And what do you hope for your characters in future?

BENEDICT WONG: For Da Shi, he's there to pick them up again. They're so down in the dumps and lost, aren't they? I mean, that's his job, to put them back on track and the analogy of the bugs that can't be crushed.

LIAM CUNNINGHAM: Yeah. And from Wade's point of view, what you're referring to, that's a battle that just hasn't been lost. The war continues. And I think that's incredibly important. And they're relentless. These two are just absolutely relentless. Something doesn't work, something else will. And I really like that about them. And you could say by the end of the show that Jess's character, Jin, is devastated. But it's very important not to get dispirited about these things.

BENEDICT WONG: I mean, to them, the obstacle is the stepping stone. That's what we do. We charge through.

JESS HONG: I believe that's a hopeful ending. It's maybe kind of acknowledging OK, we're bugs, but we're not doomed. That's actually the first thing I wrote after the table read. I was taking little notes and then writing the last episode, like, bugs, yes, doomed, no.

ALEX SHARP: I thought it was really exciting. And I thought it was really beautiful the way that they used the cicadas as kind of flipped, flipped the meaning for the characters, from being something negative and vulnerable that's being attacked to seeing the beauty in it. And it ends on an optimistic note in a way. But it's also-- I mean, the last words, I think, are we've got a lot of work to do. So I think--

ELIZA GONZALEZ: And we do.

ALEX SHARP: And we do.

ELIZA GONZALEZ: I think as humanity-- as humanity is progressing and moving into a different time and space, especially with technology and AI and everything that we're experiencing, I think that more than ever, we have a lot of work to do as a whole, as a team and unite. And hopefully that the show brings that awareness.
