Ana de Armas Oscar nomination questioned by former co-star: 'Come on, fam. For real?'
The actor also suggested some people had been overlooked in the nominations
Lil Rey Howery has appeared to question his former co-star Ana de Armas getting an Academy Award nomination for Blonde.
De Armas is up for the Best Actress gong for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix film, and will battle it out with Cate Blanchett, Andrea Riseborough, Michelle Williams and Michelle Yeoh.
However, Howery implied he was a bit surprised that de Armas – who he shared the screen with in 2022's erotic thriller Deep Water – was on the list and also suggested that some other people had been overlooked.

"I’m just talking about the Academy. What are y’all doing? Come on, fam. For real?”
Howery also said that he thought Viola Davis should have been nominated for The Woman King and that Danielle Deadwyler should have been recognised for Till.
He said: “It’s just very unfortunate that we keep… and just being honest, especially as Black people, we want to be recognised by the Academy so bad because we know what it does for our bag.
"You know what I’m saying?
