Ant Middleton to star in action movie Shelter
Ant Middleton has landed a role in an action movie.
The 42-year-old adventurer - who is best known for his appearances on 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' - is set to make his film debut in the action thriller 'Shelter'.
He told Radio Times: "Normally I’m doing the screaming and shouting but stepping into the acting world the tables have well and truly turned. With an awesome team at my side, there really are no excuses not to make ripples through the industry."
Writer-director Scott Vickers believes Ant will be a huge asset to the project, revealing that he'll be heavily involved in the "action sequences".
Speaking about the decision to cast the TV star in the movie, Scott said: "Bringing Ant Middleton in as the lead role in this project was huge.
"Film lovers talk a lot about the need for authenticity and escapism in film. Well, I can tell you that all the action sequences you’ll see Ant doing on screen in 'Shelter' he has done in reality."
Ant left 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' in abrupt fashion in 2021, amid concerns over his "personal conduct".
A spokesperson for Channel 4 subsequently explained the reasons behind his exit from the show, saying that their "views and values are not aligned".
The spokesperson said at the time: "Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of 'SAS: Who Dares Wins'.
"Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again."
