Antonio Banderas has been rushed to hospital suffering from severe chest pains, according to reports.

The 56-year-old star was taken from his home in Surrey to St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey after a workout session last Thursday.

He was said to be suffering from ‘agonising pains in his chest’, reports The Sun, and was kept in hospital for observation.

He’s since been discharged.

Banderas has lived in Cobham since 2015, following his split with actress wife Melanie Griffiths, to whom he was married from 1996.

He revealed last year to The Sunday Times how much he loves living in the UK, saying “I find Surrey magical. I am not a party person anymore so I have the space and peace to write and really get inside my own head. I’m working on several scripts.

“I go cycling in the woods and everyone in Cobham, Weybridge and Esher is incredibly friendly. Above all, I am surrounded by nature. I love watching the deer and foxes that come to my garden.”

Most recently, he was seen in ‘The 33’, the drama based on the amazing story of the trapped Chilean miners in 2010.

A new movie, ‘Security’ with Ben Kingsley, is due out later this year.
