Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown lands her first Hollywood role
It was only a matter of time before the talented ‘Stranger Things’ actress got her Hollywood break.
The summer of 2016 saw Netflix’s sci-fi drama debut as it became an instant hit with subscribers. Not only were people non-stop talking about the show, but its young cast became overnight stars.
In particular, Millie Bobby Brown – the child actor that so brilliantly portrays Eleven – became a fan favourite with her nuanced performance, so with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that she’ll appear in ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’, which is the sequel to Gareth Edwards’ 2014 ‘Godzilla’ remake.
Despite her very British accent, Brown was born in Spain and has lived in Florida since 2011 to pursue her career. She started out as young Alice in ‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’, followed by a prominent role in BBC America’s mysterious series ‘Intruders’.
Overall she’s had a handful of parts which have, until now, all been TV shows, which include ‘NCIS’, ‘Modern Family’, and Grey’s Anatomy’. In truth, it was only a matter of time before the 12-year-old was snapped up for a big screen debut, considering the popularity and acclaim she’s received over the past 12 months.
‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ is directed by Michael Dougherty who is also writing the film. He also hemled ‘Trick ‘r Treat’ and the recent festive gorefest ‘Krampus’, so a mainstream monster movie seems like a natural progression.
At present, there’s not much to go on other than having Dougherty and Brown attached. The far-fetched plot is currently rumoured to focus on Godzilla’s arch nemesis King Ghidora, and prevent the destructive Planet X aliens from destroying it and the entirety of Earth. It isn’t actually out until March 2019, so there’s still plenty of time for plots to dramatically change and an entire cast to put in place.
