Anya Taylor-Joy welcomes Charlize Theron's support
Anya Taylor-Joy "reached out" to Charlize Theron after shooting 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga'.
The Oscar-winning actress previously played Imperator Furiosa in 2015's 'Mad Max: Fury Road', and Anna has now revealed that she reached out to Charlize after she played the character in her new movie, 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga'.
The 28-year-old actress told Entertainment Weekly: "You have to go on your own journey with it. But as soon as it was done, I reached out to her because I'm such a fan, not only of her as an actress but her as a person. And she's as wonderful and cool as you could possibly hope, and really supportive and classy, so I appreciated it."
In the new movie, Furiosa uses body language to communicate, and Anya admits that it was a "quite frightening" challenge.
The actress said: "It ended up being something that only gave me, for a large portion of the movie, my eyes to telegraph the story."
Meanwhile, in April, George Miller praised the "mystical" qualities of Anya.
The acclaimed filmmaker believes that Anya was the perfect candidate for the role of Furiosa.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the veteran director explained: "There's something mystical about her, and yet, there's an accessibility. I learned that she was somebody who is very, very disciplined, even though she's very young.
"She was a ballet dancer. [Charlize] was a ballet dancer. I understand the physical discipline as well as the emotional discipline they have. So all of that led to Anya being in 'Furiosa'."
