Could Arnold Schwarzenegger be back for ‘The Predator’?
During an interview with The Arnold Fans, the 68-year-old actor (and star of the original ‘Predator’ movie) hinted that he may be back for the upcoming reboot.
“I haven’t talked with [director Shane Black] yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon,” he said. “Just as soon as I’m finished with [Arnold’s Sports Festival] and ‘The Apprentice’ and all this stuff. But I will get together with him.”
And it looks as though another Arnie project may also be gathering steam…
“If there is any news, we’ll of course let you know right away,” he added. “There’s also a meeting coming up soon about Conan, about the project moving forward.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger starred as Dutch in the original 1987 ‘Predator’… and while he may have survived the encounter with the iconic alien hunter, he never returned in any of the films that followed.
And while Arnie may be keen to land a role in the new movie, it’s far from certain.
Written and directed by Shane Black, ‘The Predator’ has been hailed as a reboot of the classic sci-fi franchise… but it’s also claimed that it could be a direct sequel to the original movie.
“Preferably, I’d love to see Dutch central to this new Predator story,” said the folks at Bloody Disgusting, “which I’m being told behind the scenes is an authentic sequel to the 1987 film.”
But it could also end up being a cameo appearance.
“Look, the fans are the most important thing because without the fans, I’d be nothing,” said Schwarzenegger. “So I just always want them to know that I appreciate them very much; their loyalty, their dedication, and their passion about all the stuff that I’m doing. So, thank you.”
Let’s just hope he’ll be back in ‘The Predator’.
‘The Predator’ heads to cinemas on 2 March 2018.
