'Big Brother' set to return with ITV reboot

Big Brother is set to return in 2023 as ITV2 has announced it will be bringing back the reality show giant.
News of the reboot was unveiled during the Love Island final on Monday evening, when an ITV2 advert played the show's well-known theme tune as the channel's logos were rearranged into a Big Brother eye.
The ad then ended with "2023" flashing up on the screen.

Big Brother last aired in 2018, so its reboot will mark five years since fans last had a new series to watch, and it will also be welcomed to a new home at ITV2.
The reality contest first aired in 2000 at Channel 4, where it stayed for 11 series, seven celebrity versions and final series Ultimate Big Brother, before moving to Channel 5 where it aired eight more seasons of the main series as well as 15 of Celebrity Big Brother.
ITV2 has said that the 2023 return series will welcome a new group of housemates for a run of six weeks, who will face live evictions, public votes and challenges as they compete to win "a life-changing cash prize".

The Big Brother house will be getting a contemporary new look and housemates are said to be a carefully selected group from all walks of life, with a host for the show still to be announced.
In previous series, the show ran from early summer but as it would create a direct scheduling clash with ITV2's hugely successful Love Island, already confirmed for summer 2023, it could run either directly after the dating show's final from August, or at a different time of year.
Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning and acquisitions and controller of ITV2, ITVBe and CITV said: "This refreshed, contemporary new series of Big Brother will contain all the familiar format points that kept viewers engaged and entertained the first time round, but with a brand new look and some additional twists that speak to today’s audience.
"We're beyond excited to bring this iconic series to ITV2 and ITVX where it should especially engage with our younger viewers."
Big Brother's best-known housemates have included Kate Lawler, Nikki Grahame, Jade Goody, Craig Phillips, Brian Dowling, Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond.
The celebrity version's stars included Vanessa Feltz, Lee Ryan, George Galloway and Les Dennis, although it isn't yet known whether ITV2 is also planning a Celebrity Big Brother series.
