Billie Lourd gets a bigger role in Star Wars 8
‘The Force Awakens’ was just the beginning for Billie Lourd.
During an interview with BUILD, the 24-year-old actress – and daughter of ‘Star Wars’ veteran Carrie Fisher – revealed she’s getting a much larger role in ‘Star Wars 8’.
“Lieutenant Connix is back,” she confirmed. “You might not know her name, but you should now… Connix is back and better than ever.”

When asked if she had more than one line, she confirmed: “Yeah.”
“I might get arrest now,” she joked. “Sorry Rian.”
Of course, her character Lieutenant Connix appeared in ‘The Force Awakens’ alongside her mother at the heart of the Resistance. And now it looks as though her role is getting beefed up for the upcoming sequel.
Does that mean we’ll see her fight alongside Princess Leia?
For now, that remains unclear… but Lourd is certainly happy to be taking on ‘Star Wars’ after inheriting the iconic hairdo from her mother.
“I’m excited for my kids to see me and my mom in ‘Star Wars’ together,” she said. “me in the buns, and like, her not in the buns but in some other weird hairstyle.”
Still, it sounds as though she had a great time on ‘The Force Awakens’ and couldn’t speak more highly of its director, J.J. Abrams.
“Absolutely incredible,” she said of her time on ‘The Force Awakens’. “J.J. is a dream, he’s so much fun. He has such a good sense of humour, he’s so supportive. He’s the man. I can’t say enough good stuff about J.J.”
Will Rian Johnson’s ‘Episode 8’ live up to its predecessor?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But at least we know Billie Lourd is back.
‘Star Wars 8’ heads to cinemas on 15 December 2017.
