Bradley Cooper’s Support For Hillary Clinton Upsets American Sniper’s Republican Fans
Clint Eastwood’s ‘American Sniper’ won a huge following among more right-leaning audiences in the US – and as a result, some are none too pleased to learn who the film’s leading man is backing for the next US President.
Bradley Cooper, alongside girlfriend Irina Shayk, was seen in attendance at the Democratic National Convention this week, much to the displeasure of some of his Republican-supporting fans.
Of course, Cooper’s support of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party is no big secret: the actor has been a vocal supporter of Barack Obama, as well as a donor to Clinton’s campaign.
Nonetheless, many Republicans on Twitter have been feeling disgruntled that the actor who portrayed the late Iraq veteran sniper Chris Kyle supports what some of his (former?) fans consider an ‘anti-American’ party:
Other Twitter users felt differently, reminding us all that Cooper is, of course, an actor, and not the literal embodiment of all the characters he portrays – his other roles including Rocket Raccoon in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy:’
Directed by Clint Eastwood, ‘American Sniper’ was a huge hit in the US on its Christmas 2014 release, earning $350 million on its home shores alone. It also won Cooper (who also produced) a Best Actor Oscar nomination.
