Brand New Images Released For Assassin’s Creed, Morgan, Trolls, Why Him? And Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children (Exclusive)
It was not the best of times at movie theaters this summer, with several highly anticipated franchises falling short of expectations. But the winter movie season is here to rescue us. Yahoo Movies has been given a sneak peek at five new Fox movies expected this autumn/winter.
Assassin’s Creed
Synopsis: Could this be the video game adaptation that finally delivers? Michael Fassbender plays dual roles in a story that shifts between centuries and traces the unending conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. With an Oscar-caliber cast that includes Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson, ‘Assassin’s Creed’ has got to be good, right?

Morgan
Synopsis: Given that it’s produced by Ridley Scott and directed by his son Luke, it’s not overly surprising that Morgan — the story of a bio-engineered humanoid wreaking havoc on an enclosed scientific facility — has some resemblances to Alien. It will also inevitably remind people of last year’s buzzed-about sci-fi thriller ‘Ex Machina’.

Why Him?
Synopsis: ‘Meet the Parents’ writer John Hamburg gives his winning concept an update with this comedy about a conservative father (Bryan Cranston) who is shocked to meet his daughter’s foul-mouthed, Internet billionaire boyfriend (James Franco). We’re excited to see Cranston return to comedy (remember Malcolm in the Middle?), particularly alongside the hilarious Megan Mullally, who plays his wife.

Trolls
Synopsis: The story of the overly optimistic Trolls, with a constant song on their lips, and the pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomach. Featuring original music from Justin Timberlake, and soon-to-be classic mash-ups of songs from other popular artists, The film stars the voice talents of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Gwen Stefani, and many more.

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children
Synopsis: No one does “peculiar” as well as director Tim Burton, who’s back in his Gothic fantasy wheelhouse with this adaptation of Ransom Riggs’s 2011 YA novel. Haunting special effects anchor the story of an ordinary-seeming boy (Asa Butterfield) who finds a hidden realm of magical, misfit children overseen by the titular homeowner (Eva Green).
