With some big – but admittedly animated – shoes to fill, the Broadway adaptation of Disney smash ‘Frozen’ has found its princesses.

Caissie Levy (above right) is set to play Elsa, the ice-cursed princess who imperils her home kingdom of Arendelle.

Anna, her over-eager childhood playmate, will be played by Patti Murin (above left).

Both actresses have pretty sturdy chops as far as musical theatre goes, with Levy having appeared in shows like ‘Wicked’, ‘Hair’, ‘Ghost The Musical’ and playing hefty role of Fantine in ‘Les Miserables’ in 2014.

Murin, meanwhile, has starred in the likes of ‘Xanadu’ and ‘Lysistrata Jones’ on Broadway.

Elsewhere in the cast, Jelani Alladin will make his Broadway debut playing doughy hero Kristoff, John Riddle as the dastardly Hans, Greg Hildreth as incessantly perky snowman Olaf and Robert Creighton as the Duke of Weaseltown.

Sorry, Weselton.

The show is due to open in the Spring of 2018, at the St James Theatre, directed by Michael Grandage and choreographed by Tony-winner Rob Ashford.

The show may fill the gap for some fans, while they wait for the so-far unrushed ‘Frozen 2’, currently in production.

With Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel all officially attached, Disney boss Bob Iger has promised ‘excellence not speed’, which is encouraging.

The first movie remains the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, having raked in $1.276 billion.
