Carrie Fisher gets a touching tribute at Star Wars Celebration Orlando
‘Star Wars’ legend Carrie Fisher gets a touching send-off.
And it wasn’t without the rebellious charm we knew and loved.
It’s the 40th Anniversary of the original ‘Star Wars’ and as such, it’s a very special Star Wars Celebration this year. But it’s also sadly the one in which we say farewell to beloved princess – Carrie Fisher.
And this beautiful video tribute reminds us why we love her.

Highlighting some of her best moments, the wonderful video tribute gives us a glimpse of Carrie Fisher and Princess Leia throughout the ‘Star Wars’ trilogy – looking back at the very best of the iconic rebel princess.
And it definitely didn’t leave out her rebellious streak…
“Do you have any advice for the younger members of the cast?” asked Wariwick Davis in an interview from last year’s Celebration Europe.
“I’ve told Daisy [Ridley] not to go through the crew like wildfire,” she replied.
It’s the Carrie Fisher we know and love – the blunt, unashamedly rebellious princess who brought a smile to our faces with every new interview. And this is such a fitting tribute to an actress who challenged everything about the industry.
“I hope I slept with you to get the job,” she said in a hilarious roast of George Lucas. “Because if not, who the hell was that guy?”
Of course, there were plenty of kind words for Carrie Fisher, from Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford to her recent co-stars, Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie.
And George Lucas was on hand to give his own special tribute to Carrie.
“She played a part that was very smart, and she was having to hold her own against two big lugs, goofballs that were screwing everything up,” Lucas said. “She was the boss. It was her war, and when I cast it, I said I want somebody young to play the part. I want somebody very young. When Carrie came in, she was that character. She was very strong, very smart, very funny, very bold, very tough, and there really wasn’t much of a question. There are not very many people like her. They are one in a billion. For this particular part, it was absolutely perfect. … She wore a dress through the whole thing, but she was the toughest in the group.”
Heartfelt words for a woman who touched so many lives.
RIP Carrie Fisher 1956 – 2016.
