You might have thought that Simone Biles would have been the one to freak out when she crossed paths with Channing Tatum on ‘The Ellen Show’ earlier this week.
But it was very much the other way round, as the ‘Magic Mike’ and ‘21 Jump Street’ star immediately gushed and lavished praised on the Olympic hero, before then acting as a human stand for her four gold and one bronze medal.
Tatum admitted to Ellen DeGeneres before he’d met Biles that he would freak out upon seeing her as he and his family “watched every one” of her events, before he then added, “She is going to be the greatest and already is the greatest of all time.”
This then provoked the 36-year-old to unleash his bizarre theory for why Simone Biles has achieved so much success, as he explained, “I think she’s got really strong toes and I think it helps her hold onto the ground … to keep herself flying away.”
Tatum then added, “It doesn’t make any sense. If I came down with that much force, my kneecaps would pop right out of the building.”
When it was Simone Biles’ turn to be interviewed by Ellen the host surprised her with her very own Channing Tatum medal stand, as the actor emerged from behind a curtain holding onto four of her medals, with the other safely draped over Biles’ neck.
Upon seeing Tatum Biles immediately ran over to hug the actor, which was a rather odd, but still touching, sight to behold as Tatum’s six-foot-one frame towers over the diminutive four-foot-nine Biles.

Tatum is just the latest celebrity to have befriended Simone Biles, as her Olympic success allowed her to meet her crush Zac Efron while she was still in Rio, plus she also attended the VMAs earlier this month where she came face to face with the likes of Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, G-Eazy, Flo Rida, Jake Miller, and the one and only Beyonce.
It’s fair to say she’s had a pretty good month.
