Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal team up for new movie

Thor's Chris Hemsworth is joining forces with The Last of Us favourite Pedro Pascal for a new heist thriller.

Titled Crime 101 and based on 2021's Don Winslow novella, this one has American Animals director Bart Layton attached and, according to Deadline, streaming giants Amazon and Netflix are locking horns over the package.

As for the storyline... High-level jewel robberies are going down across the Pacific Coast and law enforcement has connected them to the Columbian cartels. Detective Lou Lubesnick doesn't follow this line of inquiry, though, pinpointing a thief seeking out one final score instead.

News of this tantalising project follows Hemsworth's overblown retirement whispers.

In the series Limitless, the Aussie actor underwent genetic testing and discovered that he owns two copies of the gene APOE4, meaning he's technically at an increased risk of an Alzheimer's disease diagnosis.

He was then quoted as suggesting he'd be taking "some time off" because he was "not enjoying what was right in front of" him.

"It was interesting, because those two headlines got coupled together, that I was taking time off because of the genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's," Hemsworth told Entertainment Weekly.

"That experience and that show made me go, 'Oh wow, none of us are invincible.' It kind of slams you into the moment. You start asking bigger questions, and you think, 'I need to slow down and just experience this moment now and not have the years race by.'

"It was a positive in that sense, but it got a little overdramatised, like I was potentially retiring because of this thing. Which just isn't the case."

Well, phew!
