Natalia Reyes is a big name in Latin America but next year she’ll breaking into Hollywood with a stand-out role in James Cameron’s Untitled Terminator Reboot, playing Dani Ramos opposite Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. She’ll also appear opposite Nicolas Cage and Laurence Fishburne in Running with the Devil.

Charlie Plummer

Charlie Plummer had an impressive 2017, leading critical darling Lean on Pete and playing kidnapped John Paul Getty III in All the Money in the World. The young actor has done a few small movies this year but in 2019 he’ll be the face of YA adaptations. Not only is he appearing in Words on Bathroom Walls and Spontaneous but also taking the lead in Hulu’s adaptation of Looking for Alaska from The Fault in Our Stars author John Green.

Naomi Scott is best known for playing the Pink Power Ranger in the movie reboot but she’ll shoot to stardom in 2019 thanks to landing the role of Princess Jasmine in the Aladdin live-action film and playing one of the Charlie’s Angels in Elizabeth Banks’ reboot opposite Kristen Stewart.

Naomi Ackie has made some brilliant career movies over the years from appearing in Lady Macbeth and Yardie to TV show The Bisexual on Channel 4. Next year she’ll be seen in Star Wars: Episode IX and crime thriller The Corrupted.

Jack Dylan Grazer will be back once again as Eddie in It: Chapter 2 but will also be seen in Shazam! as Billy Batson’s foster brother Freddy as well as playing the younger version of Timothee Chalamet’s character Nic in Beautiful Boy.

Rosa Salazar has enjoyed some supporting roles in The Maze Runner franchise and the upcoming Netflix thriller Bird Box but next year she’ll take centre stage in Alita: Battle Angel. The actor plays the titular manga character in Robert Rodriguez’s high-octane adaptation.

Us is a horror starring Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke as a couple who take their kids to a beach house to unwind with their pals only for uninvited people to ruin the party.

Independence Day: Resurgence fans will recognise Jessie Usher as a grown-up Dylan Hiller but he’ll be joining another cinematic legacy in 2019 when he plays a young John Shaft in the sequel which will also see Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Roundtree’s versions of the detective too. Usher will team up again with Jackson in The Banker as well as appearing in Seth Rogen’s new TV series The Boys.

2019 is set to be a huge year for cinema with major releases from the studios and indie films that come with serious hype.

From Star Wars to the Terminator reboot, Aladdin to Jordan Peele’s next horror Us, there will be more than a few familiar faces to entice people into cinemas but there are several rising stars to look out for too.
