Corin Hardy May Direct The Crow After All

Director Corin Hardy may return to ‘The Crow’ reboot.

According to Deadline, the troubled remake of ‘The Crow’ may have been handed a lifeline, as former-director Corin Hardy may be gearing up to return to the project.

“There might be a thaw regarding Hardy’s exit from the The Crow remake that precipitated a legal joust between producer Ed Pressman and Relativity,” they revealed.

Although Hardy showed tremendous enthusiasm for the project, the bankruptcy of studio Relativity Media caused a number of problems… not least of which, Hardy’s eventual exit.

After a slew of financial problems, Relativity Media appointed Dana Brunetti as its new president of production… and the decision was soon made to start ‘The Crow’ reboot from scratch, effectively letting go Corin Hardy.

But that may not be the end of the story.

“It is possible that Hardy might re-emerge on that film after all, but there are obstacles still to be overcome and it is possible another studio could come into the mix as an active partner.”

But there are still some things to work out.

For one thing, Hardy’s version of ‘The Crow’ involved actor Jack Huston, who has since quit the project. And according to /Film, Andrea Riseborough was also in negotiations to play the villain, Top Dollar… but it’s unknown whether or not she’s still involved.

Either way, it looks as though Hardy is continuing along his own path, as Deadline also report that he’s now confirmed to direct ‘Hell Bent’ – a movie described as ‘Dirty Dozen goes to Hell’.

“The Hallow director Corin Hardy has made a deal to direct Hell Bent, the Mike Finch-scripted action film that is a priority project for Paramount Pictures,” they revealed. “Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing a film that will begin casting shortly as the script gets a polish.”

Will Hardy return to ‘The Crow’?

For now, we have to wait and see… but we really hope so.
