Now that we’re just over a month away from the release of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, we can expect a bevy of quotes from its stars teasing the final installment to the intergalactic saga.

Daisy Ridley started this procession on Thursday during her interview with Entertainment Weekly, but rather than providing a long diatribe about The Rise Of Skywalker, she instead just used four words to describe it.

Which was especially generous, because the publication only asked for three words, only for Ridley to throw in an extra one for good luck. “Definitely dark,” she began, before then immediately adding. “There are bits that are genuinely scary. And sad. And joyful.”

That pretty much covers all the bases, so Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker promises to be both rather epic while also providing a rollercoaster of emotions.

And so it should, too, because The Rise Of Skywalker is the ninth and final film of the Skywalker saga, which began all the way back in 1977 with Star Wars: A New Hope.

Since then we’ve had 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back, 1983’s Return Of The Jedi, then a huge gap to 1999, when The Phantom Menace kick-started the prequel trilogy, which was rounded out by 2002’s Attack Of The Clones and 2005’s Revenge Of The Sith.

J.J. Abrams, the man who has co-written and directed The Rise Of Skywalker, then brought the franchise back with 2015’s The Force Awakens, while Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi arrived in 2017.
