Daniel Craig will return to filming Bond 25 this week

Daniel Craig is back on the set of Bond 25 this week, according to the production's official Twitter feed.

Craig suffered a 'minor injury' while sprinting during a scene being filmed in Jamaica last month.

However, the injury resulted in the British actor having to be flown back to the US for x-rays, and then surgery.

He's been recovering ever since, but appears now to be on the mend.

Though the tweet is presumably meant to reassure fans that things are still on schedule, Craig is still wearing a pretty sizeable piece of apparatus on his leg to support his ankle.

But he's 'hitting the gym hard', and 'prepping for shooting next week' it reckons.

Earlier today, the official 007 Twitter account shared a tweet of Daniel Craig’s “gun barrel” sequence from Casino Royale with the inspirational caption: “A new week, A new beginning.”

It's not the first time that Craig has come a cropper while making the Bond movies, having lost two teeth in his first ever 007 fight scene in Casino Royale.

He also sliced off part of his finger making Quantum of Solace, as well as tearing muscles in his shoulder and bruising his ribs (also needing surgery).

Filming was also suspended on Spectre after he injured his knee.

But it's just the latest drama for Bond 25, which has been beset with problems from the off.

Original director Danny Boyle parted ways with the production over artistic differences (he reportedly wanted to kill off Bond at the end), to be succeeded by True Detective helmsman Cary Fukunaga.

But since then, reports have suggested that the movie is filming off an unfinished script that is being 'constantly re-written' as it goes along.

One source on set called it a 'well-polished s**t show'.

A “controlled explosion” at Pinewood Studios ripped the walls off the iconic 007 Stage earlier this month, injuring one crew member. Despite reassurances that the film was still on track, the Health and Safety Executive confirmed it is investigating the incident.

Either way, Eon Productions has said that all is still on track for its April 2020 release date.
