Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Bridge Trailer

This scary new trailer for ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ helps to bridge the story gap between ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ and its sequel, by splicing together newsreels with footage from the films

Set eight years after the hugely popular reboot, the events of ‘Dawn’ sees Earth decimated by simian flu, and tensions between men and apes is at an all-time high.

The official synopsis for the sequel, directed by Matt Reeves and starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman reads: A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.  They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' is in cinemas 17 July, 2014.
