Presenter Denise van Outen has revealed she speaks with her ex-husband Lee Mead daily.

The pair, who share nine-year-old daughter Betsy, were married from 2009 until 2013 and still manage to communicate successfully despite their split.

"It's amazing because what I have with Lee and Betsy works so well," the 45-year-old told Closer magazine. "If I have to work one week and can't see her, I don't feel bad because I know Lee will be looking after her and she'll be having a great time with her dad.

"I speak to Lee daily, so I always know what's going on, and Betsy knows how loved she is by both of us.

"We even all jetted off to Dubai for a family holiday together one year. It's amazing can we do that without there being any problems."

Mead, 38, won the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat on BBC talent competition Any Dream Will Do in 2007 where he met van Outen, who was on the judging panel.

Their relationship has remained amicable as van Outen has found love again with boyfriend Eddie Boxshall who appeared alongside her on this year's instalment of Celebrity Gogglebox.

Elsewhere, it was announced this week that Mead would be bowing out of Holby City as his character Loft Chiltern exits the hospital drama.

Mead has starred in the role for five years, having started out on Holby's sister-show, Casualty.
