Comic-book community now speculating frantically over who Game of Thrones star might be

Peter Dinklage will be play the villain in the forthcoming 'X-Men' sequel 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', according to reports.

News of his appointment to director Bryan Singer's cast emerged yesterday, with most outlets speculating that he might play diminutive hero Puck.

But Variety is reporting that he is in fact the film's 'main antagonist'.

Debate is, of course, now rife amongst comic-book websites as to which villain Dinklage could be playing.

Some suggest that he could be Mr. Sinister, the peculiar, telepathic villain first seen in the X-Men comics in the late 80s.

Collider is throwing in the possibility of Dinklage, who plays the wily Tyrion Lannister in 'Game of Thrones', playing Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels, a legion of mutant-hunting robots.

Meanwhile The Playlist suggests that he could be an entirely CGI character, since Singer started talking up the technology he's used in his current project 'Jack The Giant Slayer', which features several CGI giants.

“I definitely want to use this technology again, and I might even be using some of it in a different way in 'X-Men',” he told MTV.

“I don't wanna say how, yet, but I'm definitely using some of this technology on 'X-Men' which I never used in any of the other 'X-Men' films.”

When he was further grilled on whether it might mean a full CGI character in the film, he said: “That's the thing I don't want to talk about. I'm not sure. I'm doing research on it now.”

Whatever, it sounds like he's made his mind up. Shooting for the film starts in April, with a release planned for July 18, 2014.
