Disney Confirms 'Toy Story 5' Release Date

Disney and Pixar fans are in for a treat as the studios have confirmed the official release date for Toy Story 5. Just last summer, it was confirmed by Pixar's creative chief officer that Woody and Buzz Lightyear will be returning for the fifth Toy Story sequel.

The fifth installment is set to arrive in 2026, almost seven years after the most recent one, 2019's Toy Story 4. So far, the details of the plot have remained hush-hush, but Tom Hanks is slated to return as the titular Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear. 2026 is looking to be a busy year for Disney, which has also announced the arrival of Lucasfilm's next Star Wars film directed by Jon Favreau. The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to hit theaters before Toy Story 5 on May 22, 2026. Dwayne Johnson's Moana is slated to arrive on July 10, 2026 whereas Tron: Ares will arrive on October 10, 2025.

In the next two years, Pixar will have two sequels hitting the big screens. Inside Out 2 lands in theaters this summer and is bringing back Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black as the voices of emotions of Joy, Sadness, and Anger, respectively. The cast also sees additions in Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment.

Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters on June 19, 2026.
